I just finished replacing the rear subframe bushings on a friends 535i. Came up with the same problem while reassembling the differencial. I found that if you get the rear bolt (in the slotted hole) ane the two top bolts (the ones closest to the rear) started then jack up on the back or front, which ever is needed, of the diff the other holes will line up. I have been through this twice, helping my friend change one and also on my own. I have a LS from a 528 in my 535i. Good luck it's a frustrating job. - Dave
