I just bought my first BMW. It was sold as a 85 535i, but the model# inside the door is M535 I/a. It has Euro bumpers and a Turbo does this have anything to do with it? I would appreciate any help.

ps. i dont know if it matters but everything in the car, like the documentation and warning lights are written in german.
Uh, yeah, Justin, sorry to say your car is a piece of junk, and could get you arrested. I'll be nice enough to take it off your hands, no need to thank me...:)
Seriously, it sounds like you got mucho lucky here... prior owner didn't know what he had?
M535i is essentially a Euro M5 (suspension, brakes, etc.) with the M30 engine (the "real" M5 had the S38 engine). Turbo was NOT a stock item, you might want to look into the pedigree of this addition.
From your comment about the Euro bumpers, I assume you are in the States... lots of guys here lust after these bumpers, it's just so damn expensive and impractical to get them set up over here.
Good luck with the car, it is rare and desireable.
