Changes that a radical cam might requiresd are fuel injection modifications and or piston cutting to fit valve overlap. Inj might require anything from just new injectors to pressure changes etc to increase fuel flow and/or duration. Top that off with no idle below around 1500 RPM and you have, well guess for yourself. With that in mind, I install a 282 cam in and 85 535i and it required no modifictions to the inj or piston cutting. It had the same 535i idle. Power increase was good fuel mileage was down about 2MPG.
