Check fuse 5. Your central locking, glove box light, seat belt warning, and trunk light are on the same fuse.

I owned my car for years before I found out that the alarm horn didn't work. It failed in such a way that if the alarm went off, fuse 5 would blow, which would turn off the OBC, which would allow me to start the car. Useful, huh?

If fuse 5 is OK, and the other stuff on it works, someone may have disconnected the alarm horn. They may have done this in any of several locations. Two come to mind:

-The alarm horn itself is hidden under a small metal plate near the battery.

-The relay you hear clicking is the OBC relay, which is to the left of the steering column. Just follow the clicking sound. Either the wire going to the horn (pin 1) or the corresponding ground (pin 2) may have been disconnected.

All this is documented in the Bentley manual. Good luck.

When I enter a code into the OBC and I try to start the car three times, I hear a clicking but the horn does not sound... I was wondering if this has to do with a fuse or relay that can easily replaced? Its not a big deal but I would like to fix it. Thanks for your help..... Tom 86 528e
