You have some excellent points. IÕve often thought of the design of the SUV and the Cadillac as essentially the same. ItÕs like driving something which keeps you completely out of tune with your surroundings- like driving your living room around. IÕve known for years, driving both Bimmers, and especially Beemers, that red flags go up whenever youÕre around one of these vehicles. Warning: objects near this vehicle will never appear (to the driver). Countless times I have been proven correct-though since IÕm affirmatively in control of whatever I drive, IÕve never gotten in a collision with one of them. I also love the analogy to the old, fake-woody, Estate Wagons-ThatÕs a new one. In concurrence with that, I recently read that the resale value of SUVÕs coming off lease has plummeted, and that the auto manufacturers are taking a financial beating. At least there is a modicum of justice in the world. In response to some other feedback: while itÕs true that the Expeditions/Explorers have some utility as towing vehicles (or maybe garbage scows), I would wager youÕll count more without hitches than with. I do actually get giddy though, when I see commercials for Ford "Outfitters." HA! Give me a break. Buy a Jeep TJ, Land Rover, or Land Cruiser-maybe then youÕll have some credibility. Otherwise, youÕve been indoctrinated and you deserve what you get. I look foreword too, to the day when I donÕt have to have my vision obscured by the aft-end visionary design of Ford Motor Co.
