although i go to school in atlanta, i live almost 2 hours away, in a fairly rural part of georgia. my folks own an explorer, and i've really appreciated the cabin room when i've been moving all my junk between home and school. as far a road vehicle, that's about the only good thing i have to say about any suv i've ever driven. the handling is awful, gas mileage is awful, and safety is definitely sub-par. it is not a vehicle that was intended to go 95 mph down the interstate, like so many lunatics do. it really makes me angry that having an suv is the trendy thing to do now. after all, something like 90% of all people who own one don't use it like it was originally conceived: as an off-road vehicle. being an outdoors nut, i love borrowing the explorer and heading to the woods. i'd much rather take that monstrosity to where the roads (if any) are not paved and quite treacherous. but other than that, give me my bmw! as a daily driver, it is far superior to that ford p.o.s. ok, i think i've rambled enough on the subject.
