I don't know the abbreviations, but you're talking about fuse 5, which supplies power for:
-Active check system memory
-Central lock system
-Automatic transmission electonic control
-Glove box light
-Heated door locks
-Seatbelt warning
-Interior lights
-Turn signals & hazard lights
-Trunk light
-On-board computer
-Power antenna
-Service interval
-Instrument cluster

This list is cribbed from the Bentley manual. Mine has paid for itself many times over.

When you say the short is "a very light one," a assume you mean it's not enough to blow the fuse. You may not have a short at all. It may simply be that a light bulb isn't turning off when it should. The usual suspects:
-Glove box light doesn't go out when glove box closed.
-Trunk light doesn't go out when trunk closed.
-Rechargeable flashlight is left on.
-Door lock heater stuck on.

Happy hunting.

I am trying to find a short in my wiring on my '87 535i.
I have found the fuse circuit containing the short but in attempting to eliminate the problem, I am having trouble identifying certain leads coming off the fuse. Also, the short is a very light one that shows dimly on the test light. The names and abbreviations are on the fuse box cover.
Under a certain 8A fuse it lists...

I know these...
Haz. warn. syst., pass. compt., lugg. compt., read. light, clock,
But what do the following abbreviations mean...
CLS, BC, SII, DLH, SCB.
