Hey everyone,

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you on the whole SUV thing- I personally find some of them fun to drive b/c their such tanks..and maybe that's just b/c they are so different from my 5er, but what caught my attention one night was when I was watching Dateline. They were broadcasting the 40 mph safety tests done by some esteemed private testing agency. The tests are done like this: the vehicle is put on a track, brought up to 40 mph, and it is then crashed headon into a block(of cement?), BUT the block is positioned to the left so only the front left side of the car hits the block. This is to simulate more real-world accident. So anyway, the institute tested the X5, and it performed the BEST the institute had ever seen, and they test ALL types of vehicles. It's not really all that surprising that BMW built the safest SUV.
