Caz,
First, buy a Bentley manual. Then, using a multimeter set for the correct range in ohms, check the resistance on the primary (center) and secondary terminals of your Bosch coil. Be sure to disconnect the leads from the terminal. Sorry, I don't have my manual handy at the moment or I'd provide you with the "in range" values. Perhaps someone else has them near by.

I have a 1987 535i, and im not getting a spark.
How can I check to see if the Ignition Coil is Bad or not.
