I think Chris said it all. If I were you I would hold back at least $2k. Seems like no matter what you do to have the car inspected, a wart pops up right after you get it.... and you have plenty of money there to get a stunning e28.

I'm interested in buying a nice E28, but I'm not exactly sure what is out there...money wise. I've got $6-$8,000 to spend. Our family has a friend in the car business, so it is just a matter of me telling him what I am interested in, but my problem is just that, I'm not sure what to tell him. Recommendations would be helpful.
