I'm assuming you have a US model e28- I don't know about foreign versions, and that the bulb in question has three electrical prongs, not two.

-Check fuse 3. (toward front of car, 3rd from right. It's marked on the cover as "Low beam left.") Also check the electrical contacts for the fuse, to make sure there's a good connection.

-The low beam filament may have blown in that bulb. (This bulb has two filaments- high and low beam.)

My left low headlight works when the high beam switch position is on but is out when only the lows are on. Any suggestions where to start looking?
