If I had $$ to burn I would buy a new 540i, but I recently bought an 85 535i because it is the most bang for the buck.
If as you guys say, sway bars are the best way to improve handling, how much can I expect to pay for the parts and installation? Would I need sway bars for both front and back? Welding on new brackets sounds like alot of work and expense.
My e28 is stock, and I don't want to spend thousands improving what is a pretty good car as is. So I haven't gotten new rims and tires b/c as crappy as the TRXs are, mine are brand new and I can't justify spending $2,000 or more for something better. If sway bars produce the kind of cornering improvement I want, that may be the way to go.
I sure wish the e28 handled more like my e30!!!! Maybe its just physics; even with new wheels, springs and sway bars, this car can never match the smaller and lighter e30???

What diameter are they? If they are 22/16, I personally would pass, but if they are 25/18 or 25/19 get them. You will notice a large difference with the 25/? bars. The only downside to the really large bars is you have to weld on new swaybar brackets onto the framerails to prevent the old ones from breaking off.
