In the current Roundel (the BMW car club mag) they talk about using synthetic on a high mileage engine. The consensus seems to be to not do so, just use what the car has been using and change it regularly. I think I'd stick with that, if anything, for cost alone. Redline is great oil, but $7-8 per gallon.

I've used PBR deluxe and metalmasters for years. I think they are great! No dust, long lasting, work well and easy on the rotors.

Can't see how the fuel cleaner could hurt, but BMW recommends Techron, I think I'd probably just go with that if you are going to use a fuel cleaner.

Whatz up! I have two questions for my 86 535i. First, I am thinking of using PBR deluxe brake pads for the front and rear, is that a good or should I just stick with OEM pads?
Second, should I use Red Line Oil 10w40, (I have 205k miles on the original engine), and should I use the Red Line Fuel Cleaner?
Thanks, beach_911@hotmail.com
