I bought a M30 engined car that had had the cat "cleaned out" with a broom handle when it clogged. Nice exhaust note, no restriction, and a free solution! I doubt the cat "can" alone adds any restriction and still looks stock, BTW.

Has anyone replaced their downpipes with straight pipes (i.e., lacking a catalytic convertor)? I would love to (at least temporarily) get rid of the damn thing, and I don't live in an inspection state.

No cat means never having to say you worry about running too rich, or without the O2 sensor...
