Bad sound was standard on these $35,000 cars. I have had 5 bmw's and all had undersized little speakers and all but one had tapedecks with no longevity. After a couple of years they all start eating tapes and don't give them back unless you take the screwdriver to them. I got a cheap-o 10 disc changer, installed, for under $200 in the 535i. Next, a subwoofer and some front window tweeters like the later model 535s.

Don't fix; either replace or add cd changer in trunk.

Heh guys,

I just tried using my cassette player for the first time
(original) and geuss what. Its stuck. Makes noises like
its trying to do somthing but wont come out. I saw one
post in the archives suggesting pulling the radio and messing with the mechanicisms. Is that my only alternative? I dont have the tool to pull the radio. Is there somthing special about it. Maybe this is a good time to buy a new head unit. Saw the Blauplunkt Sydney at crutchfield for $150. Is that a good unit? I have a sony 10 cd changer.
Been thinking about pulling the sony and putting it in my wifes car and then later buying the bluaplunkt changer to
go with the Sydney. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Merry Christmas
Scott
