Solutions to common problems, indexed by symptoms, e.g.
"My heater only works when I'm not moving"
"My tachometer and fuel economy gauge don't work"
"My radio pops/resets when I step on the brake pedal"
On a related note, I see the same old problems coming up, and the same procedures coming up as solutions to various problems. What we need are authoritative guides, with photos, on how to change the heater valve, how to change the SI batteries (and what to do about those little plugs on the back of the speedo), how to clean the fusebox/battery terminals, etc. Such guides would get you a lot of hits, because every time someone would ask a common question on this board, the response would be a link to yours.
The site we're both using now will be hard to beat as a tech forum, but as I see it, the presence of "procedure guides" on your site would strengthen this site's effectiveness, which would increase readership of your site.
Good luck.
Tell me what you guys think about having an official E28 website? I've started it up and I am waiting on the domain www.bmw-e28.net. It will have everything on the E28 including a gallery of our cars. Here's the sample so far of what I've done (dont worry....this isn't even 1/10 done so it'll be nice nicer). Gimme some suggestions.
