On my 85 535i I can't seem toget better than 17 mpg on the hiway.She just got tuned up last week. My 528e at times seems to run better. Strange--------Poe 85 535i 99k----86 528e 208k


Are all the plug wires seated correctly?

Does the car idle OK? If not, is there a vacuum leak?

What do you mean when you say tune-up? Are the plugs gapped correctly?

Are all electrical connections removed at the "tune-up" reconnected properly?

What kind of shape is the O2 sensor?

Are the gears in your ODO functioning properly and have you confirmed your mileage the old-fashioned way?

You should get much better mileage. The 535i should kick the 528e's butt all over the road.
