My '86 535i starts a little hard when cold - meaning I have to pump the accelerator to keep it running for about the first 15 seconds. (Temps around 40 degrees F.) Secondly once I have driven the car somewhere and let it sit for 30 minutes to 90 minutes it will not start if I don't get it to start on the first attempt. I suspect the cold start valve or thermal temp. switch. I see that BMP sells a replacement thermal switch with a longer activation time. Could this solve the problem. Any hints or diagnostic checks would be appreciated.
