Phil, I had the same problem with my 535i. My Mechanic just welded the bracket back in the same spot, but added some reinforcing metal on either side. You better do the same to the other side and the front before you tear those as well. Trust me I know from experience.......

one of my rear swaybar brackets has pulled out. I have
a set of ST bars. guess I'll get them welded. Should the
brackets be welded only where the bracket clips on to the fram? What about the bolts? leave em or weld there also?
