Door chime dead on E28.. (archive)

You guys all seem so good at fixing others problems I had to come up with something I needed fixed and I just remembered when someone said they added a diode and speaker to their car to alert them when the headlights were on and the key was out.

Well I have had my '88 535is for 3 years and I just remembered that whenever I open the door with the lights on or whatever there is no chime.. my little buzzer is either dead or disconnected... can someon please tell me where it is so I can take a look?
