If it's just the backlight, then in direct sunlight you should still be able to see the digits in the display. If you can't see any digits, check fuses 5,6, and 12.

Sounds like the back light is out on the OBC. It is just a matter of replacing the bulbs. (I think the archives has information on this). The bell dings at 36 degrees, because it is a warning for icy conditions (from what I understand).


I started my car this evening after work, and for the first time ever, the computer readout with the mpg, clock, date, temp. etc. was completely black. Any ideas on why this would happen and how I can fix it? Also, any ideas on why a bell dings when the temperure is 36 degrees?
