I have a 1983 533i that shakes in the steering wheel at 50 and 70 but gets even worse upon braking.

New upper and lower control arms - with new urethane bushings, new tie rods (x3), new idler arm and bushing, new strut mounts and spring pads.

If you do anything less, or don't do it all at once, it will come back and you'll have to do it again.

(I've learned the hard way.)
