I too like the clarity of the factory speakers but as the system in general does lack bass, and most of the separation is achieved with the front post tweeters, I'm thinking about replacing the rears with 6x9"s. Has anyone done this? I don't want to use up my trunk space with a sub.

Even though I jump on the bandwagon 2yrs ago and bought aftermarket sound system for my e28, in everyone's opinion how does BMW 'premium sound system' new or old rank with brands like Infinity, Alpine, poineer, Kenwood, Blaupunkt, etc.
I am just curious to see what you people think, it seems to me from what I've heard so far that its actually pretty damn good for an OE!
Thanks!
