I had the exact same problem, and it pissed me off everytime I tried to lock the car I would forget and have to walk to the other side!
What need to happen is this for the best directions first check Bentley, and the parts you will need are: hex nut and the door lock cylinder with new good ol' OE. Take your time, but double check from everyone else in case I forgot to mention another parts or so!
Hope it works out!

Hey everybody,

When I got my car it was always difficult to unlock or lock the car from the driver's door. If I wanted to lock the car, I'd have to turn the key to unlock and then move it to lock, so the car would lock. My passenger door lock was always a lot more graceful than this one. Anyway, one night I was angry and I happened to get a little frustrated over the stupid lock, so I kinda turned the key really hard without doing the little trick and, well, I broke the stupid thing. Everything works--I just can't unlock or lock the car from the driver's door. Any idea on what the hell I did? Also, I just found out my trunk lock is loose! The whole unit that sticks out below the license plate lights is shaky and loose. Any idea on how to fix this? Thanks A TON! Cheers.
