John,
I don't have electric seat but regardless, it can be a similar problem. The concern I have is that back of the seat (shoulder area) is the one that leans towards the back seat and I'm afraid the internal seat bracing is damaged. I think I'll have to remove the seat covers in order to inspect the seat "skeleton". Any suggestions on how to do this?

The driver's seat in my 535 had the same problem. When I removed the back cover from the seat (2 screws way at the bottom, then pull the seat back down) I found the rails had cracked. Using a small welding torch and a damp rag I welded them back together while in the car. Don't try this if your not good with one! However, any decent welding shop should be able to do the same thing using an arc welder, which should be neater anyway, in just a couple of minutes. I think I had to take the leather loose on one side, but it was not a big deal. The hardest part was getting the seat frame aligned correctly. The big boy previous owner had "customized" it after long use like this. It hasn't broken once it was repaired.
