Low speeds causes 'thumping' sound? (archive)

My '87 528e just had major front end work (lower contol arms, idler ect. and it now seems to be producing a major thumping noise at low speeds from the drive's side. The front end seems fine now; the car tracks well and has good on-center feel, but the thumping is there until about 25 mph.

I'm thinking that it is either a) Tire is out of round. b) Front axle is slightly bent. c) Some other front suspension malady that was missed during repairs.

If anyone has any suggestions, please post.
