The factory E28 M5 BBS basketweaves were 16x7.5 with 20mm ET I believe. Paul.

I recall from looking at my wife's 1988 5 Series owner's manual, it indicated the M5 had 7.5X16 w/20mm offset. The E39 540i "Spoke Style 33" rim is the same size. It looks much better on the E28, and bolts right on. I'm currently running 225/55-16's on these wheels and get occasional rear wheelwell rubbing when there are 2 or more in the rear and I go over a large bump. I plan to roll the rear lips soon and go to 225/50's for the next set of tires. These changes should take care of the occasional rubbing now occurring.
