Also, if your engine doesn't have a oil pump chain tensioner, you might consider either adding a shim or two to adjust your pump chain or replacing it at the same time.

Bob, just curious what you use as a method is for determining the right tension on the pump chain. I am redoing the bottom end on an M30 now, and am wondering how much I should shim it. There is no numeric specification (deflection, etc.) in the factory shop manual or the Bentley.
