What the hell does that have to do with this question about a 528e?

a muffler from a 225 slant 6 willnot restrict the exhaustof a 160ci eta imho

this is the problem in a nutshell. in its most basic function an engine is a pump. i converted thh displacemement of a 2.7l 528e (eta) into english (160 cubic inches). going the other way,225 ci =3.7 l. using a muffler from a larger volume engine will not restrict a smaller volume engine. it is restriction (increased back pressure) in an exhaust system that gives heat problems. sorry if i confused you
