Hella High Beams w/ stock electrical system (archive)

I just installed the Hella H1 high beams to my 87 535is. Has anyone had problems with these headlights frying the stock electrical system? I have had the Hella low beams in for over a year without any problems, but I have heard that the high beams draw a ton a current.
