Actually no, that's not what I was trying to say. I've pulled the control switches out of the center console and hafve them on the workbench. The question is how to get the control units apart to clean the mechanism(s) inside. Any thoughts?


If you mean taking the switches out of the center console, the nyou have to take the console apart and push them out by hand.
If not then I apoligize.

I recently removed my power window controls and separated the switch from the housing on my benchtop to clean the guts. No problem, windows work much faster and switches no longer stick.

However, when I attempted the same process for the power seat controls, I discovered that the switches do not come apart like the window controls did. Is there a trick to it? It seems to me that it's a sealed module that can't be cleaned by any other means than dousing them w/contact cleaner, which I did, by the way, with not much success. It helped a little but they're still not as I would like them. Any advice here for a clean freak in Seattle.
