Are these two suggestions still valid if my speedometer is working properly? does the diff speed sensor have outputs for the speedometer and odometer separately? Thanks for the input.

Go to the diff and pull out the diff speed sensor. It is located on the rear cover and has an electrical connector going into it. It the electrical connector is loose then you will not get any reading at the speedo. Also you sensor could have gone bad. Check those 2 things.
