Aftermarket bonnet air scoop for E28? (archive)

...can't find anywhere to get cool air from in fairly closed E28 engine bay?
So, how about collecting it through the bonnet instead?

could a good body shop fit a ready made scoop and spray it in? how about the subaru impertza scoop? nothing too tall though! we're not talking supercharges here!!
