I'ld like to hear what 15" tires people like (and don't like).
I live in Portland OR, so I especially am concerned about wet performance.
Anyone out there tried Yoko AVS dBs?
Thanks,

I have Michelin MXV4 on an '87 535i, and they are fine. However, when I bought the car two years ago, they had Ohtsu tires. They were made in Japan, but I can't recall the model. I believe they are an economy line of Falken. The Ohtsu's were unbelievable in the wet -- better than the Michelin's. The Michelins are prone to hydroplaning, something I never experienced with the Ohtsu's. Here's another interesting observation: my front end shimmy appeared the day I bought the Michelins! I thought it was a balancing issue, and had the entire set rebalanced and rotated. When I replaced the upper control arm bushings and tightened up the gearbox the problem went away for the most part.
I think the Michelin is a stiffer tire, and I'm sure that the tire properties have a lot to do with the E28's tendency to exhibit that shimmy.
