If I remember, the tamperproof bolt (that shears off) holds the ignition switch/steering lock in place so thieves cannot pull the ignition to hot wire the car, or unlock the steering pin that engages the internal steering column

My only concern would be whether the steering lock might engage with the steering column, thereby locking the wheel while you are driving!!!!!

Not a good thing. Check with the dealer ASAP
