Uncompressing bumper? (archive)

By now I think we all know how to compress our US bumpers. Anyone know how to uncompress it a bit after its done? I tried pulling on it but its pretty well stuck. I need to get to the wiring behind the signal bulbs but can't because its compressed too far. Needs some ideas.
