Calm down. It's not like you NEVER raced in your life. It feels damn good seeing the look on peoples faces when they got beat by a 15 year old car. It does need to be done responsively (ie not on a residential neighborhood).

Racing on the street is INCREDIBLY dumb...take it from someone that has owned and street-raced a 440 'cuda, numerous Camaros, a 300hp 5.0 'stang, an LT-1 'vette and a 400hp Supra TT. I did so many stupid things, and had so many close calls, it's a miracle I survived. I eventually realized EXACTLY what Bob points out. IMO, he's 100% correct.

If you love to drive fast and race, join the CCA and learn how to really drive on a track. E28 can be setup to be a nice track car. If you like strip racing, then buy or build yourself a drag car. An E28 makes a damn poor drag racer--street or strip.
