At the back of the connector there is a shinny steel clip. Push it back, it is hard. swing the front out, it will come out at about 45 deg.

i've finally gotten the metal box unattached and everything, but i cannot to save my life figure out how to get the 'wiring harness' or whatever you'd call it off! i've pulled and yanked and pushed and pryed every which way and can't get it to even budge! i have a feeling there's a very simple way of doing it that i'm just not seeing.... tia
