This is a problem on the S38 motor. The M30 motor uses a different crank hub and so there is no problem. Also there are other limiting factors on how fast an M30 can rev. The S38 came from the factory, in Europe with a 6800 rev limit. This is higher an any M30 unless you are going to start lightening a lot of stuff. The US S38 had a 7200 rev limit from the factory. That is faster then I have ever seen or heard an M30 run. The Dinan chip raises the Euro car to 7200, while the US car goes up to 7600. That is much faster and it also has to do with engine dynamics. There is nothing wrong with the crank hub on M30s and you will have no problems, or else, there would be a replacement, as in, Frank Fayhe crank hub, which he makes only for the S38. There aren't any for the M30. RA/Bob is wrong on this one.
