Hi Reg. It appears your ability to use the English language is no better developed than your taste in cars. I have included all the corrections in parentheses. A Chevy Beretta? I'd rather push my admittedly tempermental 535i (237K and runs GREAT!)than drive THAT piece of plebian garbage.
You bought a $1200 car. Did you expect perfection?
For $1200, I am sure you bought an abused, poorly maintained vehicle. Odometers can be rolled back, and from what you describe, I would bet yours has
by a LOT.
(Or possibly replaced with a lower mileage one)
Again, you bought a $1200 car, and contrary to what you were obviously expecting, you GOT a $1200 car. You want better, you buy better.

True, my car has quirks. Not all the interior lights work. There's a bit of wind noise at the driver's side door. True, I paid a *bit* more than $1200. (OK-$3800) But for that money, I got a car that with 237K will stil outrun and outlast most contemporary cars. Not to mention ride comfort and superior handling. I end up being goaded into proving that on nearly every drive home from work.

I am truly sorry you are disappointed in your BMW purchase. Perhaps you are not ready to enjoy a vehicle that involves its driver the way a BMW does. Like the previous guy said, a BMW has a soul.

By the way, a 528e was never intended to be a fast car. It is an economy car of sorts. The 2.7 litre eta engine was designed to deliver fuel economy, not performance. (Not to say you can't pep it up a bit... I've owned more than one 325e and have dealt with this- same motor)

Good luck dude. Save a little more up, get used to the fact that an older BMW has a few quirks, and get a car that will be more to your liking.
Maybe a 535i, or a 325i. If you get another Beretta, I'll be happy to race you! But don't do that to yourself.

Keep the faith...

YOURS IS AVERAGE ACTUALLY. iVE (I've) BEEN READING HERE FOR AWHILE TO LEARN WEATHER(whether) TO KEEP THE ONE I BOUGHT OR SELL IT.

NOTHING WORKS, IT HAS RUST EVERYWHERE, AND SOMETIMES IT RUNS LIKE SHIT. (poorly- is the profanity really necessary?) I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE I HEARD BMWS WERE GOOD CARS, BUT I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE, EVER. IT ONLY HAS 55000 MILES AND IT BURNS OIL AND SMOKES, THE SEATS ARE WORN OUT AND CRACKED, AND THE STEERING FEELS SLOPPY LIKE YOU CAN MOVE THE WHEEL AND NOTHING HAPPENS. NO CAR SHOULD WEAR OUT SO FAST. I PAID $1200. FOR IT AND THOUGHT I GOT A KEEPER, BUT I HAVE LEARNED ALOT SINCE THEN.

YOU MADE MY MIND UP TO SELL IT BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE ALL CRAP CARS AND I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU GUYS KEEP THEM.

THIS WHOLE PLACE IS JUST COMPALINTS (complaints)ABOUT WHATS WRONG WITH THEM AND THAT TELLS ME YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THEM TOO. WHY DON'T YOU GET CARS YOU DON'T HAVE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT AND ASK FOR HELP HOW TO FIX BECAUSE THEY ARE SO COMPLICATTED AND EXPENSIVE TO FIX?

I AM GOING TO BUY ANOTHER USED CHEVY BERRETTA (Beretta) LIKE I HAD BEFORE THIS 528 POS. AT LEAST IT HAD POWER ENOUGH TO GET OUT OF ITS OWN WAY AND IT HANDLED MUCH BETTER AND RODE BETTER.

ADIOS FOR NOW
REGGIE

What's up everybody? Yeah, I was just wondering if anyone else had a QUIRKY 5er like mine. For instance, when I got mine(85 535i) it had a relay that drained the battery dead, radio forgets presets(still does), headrest didn't go up and down, heater blower was rusted or something, factory cassette is wicked EVIL and practically refuses to play tapes unless force is applied, door locks are FRICKEN NUTS and go into unlock/lock cycle, drivers door must be shut in order to lock the car, ABS sensors are rusted(yet ABS works sometimes), trunk button just LOVES to not pop back out, right rear window falls into the door(once), original OBC lost its mind(replaced), new motor was replaced after only 5 years, e-brake must be pulled ALLLL the way back(with extreme force) in order to secure the car and the button was originally not visible(inside the lever), umm, TRX wheels(need I even say more), windows go up at .0000005 mph, I dunno.
