He's right, check the coolant level, if it's ok, either clean the sensor (pull blade terminal and unscrew from reservoir) or replace it ($20). My magnet disentegrated on mine when I attempted to clean it. Fortunately a replacement was w/in walking distance.

cold morning, start car, coolant light comes on and temp sensor is reading in the cold region (the blue). Is this warning light correct? What do I do?

I'm pretty sure this indicator is for the coolant level, not temperature......
