You either have a computer problem in that the main injectors are not spraying fuel right away, or a fuel pressure problem where there's enough pressure to squirt some from the cold start injector, but not enough to meter the right fuel through the regular injectors until the pressure was up to specs.
I'd put a fuel pressure gauge on the line and see how it responds as you attempt to start the engine.It could also be a sticking ICV. Next time as soon as it fires, just crack the throttle to see it it runs OK. If so, clean the ICV w/ carb cleaner.
The O2 sensor should have nothing to do with it, by the way.
Hi all, This morning, I had problems starting my car. It's been pretty cold lately. The car turned over then I tried to start but would not stay on idle. It would stall. I tried to start several times but was starting rough. The Tach would surge roughly then the car would shut off. Finally started it again after several tries and kept the gas pedal on. It was rough for about 30 seconds and it finally settled down and smoothed out. The car ran fine when it warmed up. Anyone have an idea on what caused this roughness. Am I right to assume that maybe I need to change my O2 sensor?
