I'd like to buy the following for my '88 535i w/ a 22mm offset:

2 PIECE BMW ALLOY ALUMINUM RIMS WHEELS FROM A1999 5 SERIES E39 AND ARE STYLE#5,
BOLTED CROSS SPOKE. THESE RIMS ARE 17" X 8. THESE RIMS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
AND ALL 4 CENTERS ARE INCLUDED. THEY ARE FACTORY ORIGINAL BMW RIMS.

Aside from the usual due-diligence, will these work on my car without fender modification?
Everything is standard on my 535i (shocks, etc.) and what size tires will work (235/45 17)?

BMW dealer no help.

FRank;
You can get these to work,but two things... 1.the e39 hubs are larger,requiring an insert to make them hub-centric on your smaller diameter hubs. 2.the fronts will require a 5mm spacer to clear properly.
235/45/17 is the LARGEST tire I would suggest.I use 245/40/17's,or 235/40/17's instead,on a 17x8.5" rim,set at 23mm rear,18mm front(which should really be 13/15mm to be the best).My other rims ARE at 13mm front.
