power steering groans when I turn right (archive)

I just got back from Sebring yesterday when I noticed a groan from probably the power steering pump. It only happens when I turn right... Even the slightest turn to the right causes the groan, but it gets worse with more steering input.
The power steering fluid is full to the brim after I depress the brake pedal 20-25 times to empty the brake bomb. There is no noise when turning left.
Does this mean my bimmer is a Democrat? Maybe it wants to be an Indy car...
Any theories would be appreciated!
