bad ecu is one of the last places I would look for loss of power, try a good tune up and check your fuel pressure and oxygen sensor output. To find the cold start valve, look at your fuel rail, the metal line that feeds your injectors, back near #4 injector you will see a rubber fuel line coming out of the rail and going down to never, never land, follow it and at the end you will find the cold start valve, a real pain to repalce if you ever have to replace and if you won it long enough, you will need to replace it.
