hey everyone, while i was on christmas break from college (northeastern university) i was able to work on my car a little bit (88 535is). i got bored one day and decided to build a cold air induction. i pretty much used ed teller's idea with the dryer hose for my intake tube. i wrapped it in insulation tape and it actually came out very nicely. i used 1/8" sheet metal to make an air box that completly isolates the huge 12" long NON-Tapering K&N cone filter with a 4" outlet. OK so here's my question. i want to get rid of the dryer hose and replace it with a real metal pipe. how do i bend a 4" pipe in order to make it fit? i need to make about 2 bends in the pipe. it will the identical shape as the dryer hose it right now, but metal, and i will have it chromed if it comes out good. i hear about "mandrel type" pipe bending, how do i go about this!?!?!? and what does that mean? thanks in advance for any help you have to offer, and if you know of a good place in the massachusetts area to have it done, that would be appreciated too.
