I have paid a couple of different ways. Some people on ebay use a service called paypals (or something like that). The purchaser basically authorizes paypals to charge their credit card and then I assume they send a check to the seller. This has worked well for me. The other method most sellers (private parties) insist on is a money order that you mail to them and when they receive it they send the item. This is a little more "iffy" since you need to trust the seller. Ebay has a rating for sellers that you can see giving you some idea of their past reliability. If you are dealing with a merchant rather than a private party, then a direct credit card purchase through them is the usual practice. This is done either through a secure credit card page they make available through the linked website or through a telephone call.

Good luck. So far I have not gotten burned on these distance purchases.

Can anyone offer any advice on buying parts, accesories via E bay and this message board? Has anyone had bad experiences? Reccomend means of payment? I have found some nice items and am very curious how to make it happen.
