I have a book that is published by the UK government which has official real world crash test results in it.

It rates the E28 as giving about 30% more protection than a Vauxhall Astra (Pontiac Le Mans, I think) which is taken as the bench mark. That's not bad when you consider that the safest car, the Jaguar XJ series, gives 55% more protection.

The E34 made quite a leap forward with about 40% better protection than the Astra.

Thanks for the info but i have one question actually 2 but anyway , what is the name of that book? did the bmw you were talking about at first have a euro bumper or an american?
