I thought it was bogus too but at least he mentioned his affiliation in the article. I've driven a car with the UUC in it and it feels pretty good however I don't know squat about short shifters. I know some people who do know more about it than I do but unfortunately not about the UUC. I have heard an earfull about the others. Lots of comments about poor workmanship, sizing, et cetera.

It's been said that many of the short shifter kits tend to create a premature ending to one's transmission. The shifter is faster than God, whoops, BMW intended and crunches through important things like synchros... I'll shut up now, I don't know what I'm talking about. However, I have seen a tranny pulled apart and all the "nice" chew marks on the synchros from the short shift kits. Damn things sheer off whole bits at a time.
