Replacing the OBC fixed it for me (after several dead batteries from honking) ;-) I love my neighbors... they hate me... wonder why... oh well
I used an OBC from my parts car 87 325i. If the OBC isn't from the exact model car as yours, use the white chip from your original OBC so all the MPG stuff is correct.
This is a strange question, but my '85 535i is honking "at will", always when the engine is off and preferably in the middle of the night, but the sound is not quite like the actual horn sound (less loud and tends to change octaves). I haven't had this car all that long (got a good deal from my uncle), is there an alarm system that's malfunctioning, a short in the electrical system somewhere, or do I need to see my priest about an exorcism?
It is likely a malfunctioning OBC. Has the OBC done any weird stuff lately, like activated the anti-theft code all by itself?
I think I have a used OBC that I bought for a customer after which he decided he couldn't pay me.
If you determine that is your problem and are interested in the replacement, email me.
